The 7th and 8th grade students that have been working with Lorelyn the past month have been great. They have been working through the design process to create logos for Rust on the Range, a local Bozeman company owned by Bryan Mackie (owner of AntlerCreek Wildlife Creations).
The students worked in groups or alone to come up with their designs. Their guidelines from the client were to involve either an owl or a bison head, possible a fence or barbed wire, and the Rust on the Range name, with a Western style to the logo to reflect our local area and his products. Rust on the Range creates wire and metal work so the final logo will reflect that crafted look. For the initial designs submitted here we’ve used the students sketches and created smooth digital versions of each. The final logo will most likely be rougher, and more characteristic of the metal and wire art.
This week we’ll review the designs in class and submit them to Bryan for review. Bryan will choose which he likes best and that design will be finalized and worked into the final logo. The students have worked really hard and it was fun to help them with this process. Here are the logo designs they came up with.
